Dress Down Day Charity Contributions

All Clerk & Comptroller employees have the option of donating $2 a week to “dress down” for charity on Fridays. Each month’s donations are given to local nonprofit organizations selected by the employees.

Presentation of Donations Ceremony, December 19, 2007 – Over 26 charities were presented with donations from Clerk & Comptroller Sharon R. Bock on behalf of over 800 Clerk & Comptroller employees. Charities presented with donations include: Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse, Alzheimer’s Community Care Association of Palm Beach County, American Heart Association, American Lung Association, American Parkinson’s Disease Association, ARC of Palm Beach County, Association for Abused Women and Children, Inc., Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, Children of Purpose, Children’s Place at Home Safe, Comprehensive AIDS Program of Palm Beach County, Florida Resource Center for Women & Children, Hospice & Home Care by the Sea, Hospice Foundation of Palm Beach County, Kids in Distress Delray Beach/Palm Beach County, Make-A-Wish Foundation, National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, Red Cross—Greater Palm Beach County, Safe Harbor Animal Rescue & Clinic, Shriners Children’s Transport Fund, Special Olympics of Palm Beach County, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Susan G. Komen Foundation

Dress Down Friday Charity Program – The Clerk & Comptroller's Dress Down Friday Charity program began in 1994, when employees requested a relaxed dress code for Fridays. In return for wearing casual attire each Friday, employees have the option of donating $2 a week from their paycheck. The contributions raised each pay period are donated to nonprofit organizations selected by the employees. Currently, nearly 50% of the CLerk & Comptroller employees participate in the Dress Down Friday Charity program. Since its inception, the program has donated over $448,000 to more than 30 charities.
